	J. Banks Collection See all artwork from the J. Banks Collection. For the past 20 years Joni has served as president and owner of J. Banks Design Group Inc. Joni has been in the design industry for over 24 years and began her journey as the manager of the design company. In 1986 she purchased the business, changed the name, and henceforward has positioned the company as an internationally recognized design firm. Immediately after moving into the Hilton Head community, Joni committed herself to the betterment of the island through continuous service in the Hilton Head Boy’s and Girls Club, Chamber of Commerce and was named as the 1996 Woman of the Year. Joni is also a member of the professional groups ASID and Who’s Who of Interior Designers, and is NCIDQ certified. Joni’s entrepreneurial spirit also guided her to serve as a founding board member for both Island Montessori Day School and Bank Meridian, and she continues to actively sit on both institutions’ Board of Directors. During the past 20 years of operation under the current name, Joni has established the “J. Banks Look” which is known as timeless design with casual elegance. While each completed project has this “essence”, no two projects have the same look. “I feel that each job I do should have a special unique detail that provokes the wow factor…something that represents truly original creativity.” Joni’s attention to detail is apparent in all of her projects including her personal residence which has appeared on the cover of Coastal Living and on numerous segments of HGTV featured programs. In addition, Joni is an avid “antique connoisseur” and continuously travels the world to purchase antiques for her clients and showrooms. Currently, she has focused her buying trips to England, France, Italy and Mexico in order to buy within the regions in which her projects are located. Along with antique sourcing, Joni is also known for her relationships with furniture and accessory vendors. Researching, then visiting numerous diversified markets allows Joni to find new and different objets d’art for each and every client. Her design experience, antique history, relations with vendors, and community service are the characteristics that have allowed Joni to gain the trust and confidence of each of her clients. This trust has cultivated lifelong relationships with her clients and these relationships are what continue to foster the success of J. Banks Design Group.
